So, confession time. I slept during most of the performances last night. No, not cos the kids were super boring, but I was just plain tired lah. Early mornings, you know.
Anyway, I thought it was a rather decent show overall. There were no real disasters, but then again, no one really reached the heights Stefano and Pia have so far this season.
BUT, it was indeed another bad night for the judges. Seriously, Steven Tyler is fast losing his cool, no, his MOJO, with generic comments and some random word plays thrown in. Come on, dude, reach down deep inside and look for what we call "honesty". It's not that hard, really.
Anyway, again I'd like to just highlight some of my favourite and least favourite performances from the Motown show last night (btw, can we retire this theme already???):
Took on "Heatwave", but I just got a cold feeling at the end of it. Thia lacked punch (as always), and somehow, everytime she sang the very title, "heatwave", it became weaker and weaker. The only thing that's keeping her in are the Asian votes, but don't think she'll survive it tonight.
Nooooo! My favourite from last week, might be saying goodbye with a below-par rendition of "Hello". Didn't like the arrangement, and his ad-libing actually dug him into a deeper hole.
Wearing a Kirstie Alley dress, Lauren is fast becoming the new Haley. Very plain and blah.
Looking like an Irish Amish dude(is that even possible?), Casey showcased his originality again with a sold rendition of "I Heard It Through The Grapevine". But yeah, he does need to dial down the growls and screams a little bit.
Yup, another ballad, but boy did she deliver. But seriously, seriously, this is the last pass I'm giving her. Another ballad next week and I won't even write about you, gal.
Thia, Stefano and Lauren in the bottom three. Thia to take the bus home.
P.S.: Gordon Ramsay, you're a real ass!
