I'm On A Roll!

Been struggling to get going with my next drama project (which is still P&C btw) this past couple of weeks. So what did I do? I went to The Gardens at Mid Valley (for the first time ever) today, found myself a Starbucks and guess what?, it actually did the trick. I wrote and I wrote and now it's 60% complete. And it doesn't suck. Toffee Nut Latte saved my life!

So okay, “Percayalah Sayang” didn’t make it to Juara Lagu but full marks to Vince for a top-notch performance. Overall, the show was quite entertaining with a pretty lively crowd. But man, it was burning hot inside the studio! Shouldn’t have worn baju dua lapis… : )

It's D-Day!

Yup, today "Percayalah Sayang" will be competing in the semis of Muzik-Muzik where 5 of the 10 competing songs in this category will go on to Anugerah Juara Lagu to be held in January 08. So how am I feeling? Optimistic, actually. But boy it's pretty tough this year in pop/rock with so many heavyweights involved. Wish me luck!

Marvellous Miri!

Miri will always have a special place in my heart. When I first joined the judiciary back in 1996, my first posting was to the city of Miri, Sarawak as a magistrate. Loved the placed instantly. Laidback, fairly clean and with a beach to boot, the only thing I didn’t like was the fact it was too damn far, and expensive, to balik kampong. Hey, Tony Fernandes was still selling CDs then, ok?

After close to 2 years in Miri, I got a transfer back to KL. Since then I’ve been back there a couple of times while I was still in the Judiciary. The last time was probably back in 2000.

And two weeks ago, I was back there, this time for my new baby, GUA.COM.MY. And it was awesome. It’s still hot as hell, but Miri remains the cool place I left some 10 years ago.

Madli's was the first ever restaurant in Miri I had dinner at.

It's still there, and still serving satay... in the morning!

Of course I just had to have my Mee Kolok. After 7 bloody years!

But to my horror, the old magistrate's court I used to work at has been torn down!!!

They paved paradise to put up a parking lot!!!

"Percayalah Sayang" in Muzik-Muzik Semifinal!

"Percayalah Sayang", composed and performed by Vince with lyrics by yours truly has qualified for the semis of Muzik-Muzik. The PC was held this morning at Eden Restaurant in Changkat Raja Chulan. But it's a tough fight in the Pop/Rock category where the likes of Datuk Siti, Mawi and Jac are also competing. But I have faith in my man, Vince (who will be performing first on November 25th!) to deliver a cool performance. And a good enough one to take us to the Juara Lagu final again. A couple of years ago we made it to the final with "Mengapa Harus Cinta?"...
