I'm not the first person to make this observation. In an issue of Men's Review some years back, I think it was Kam Raslam who pointed out Malaysia's/Malaysians' obsession with prefixing names - restaurants, products etc - with D' or De.
And here we are now in 2007 and the trend hasn't really gone away. I guess it's a really easy way out. "What shall we name our restaurant?" "Just put D in front lah. No need to think!"
